Eater of tape and other things…

**11/26/17-This post has been edited. I was super busy cooking a Thanksgiving dinner (yesterday) and that contributed to the quality of the post. So here is the edited version ๐Ÿ™‚

I like boxes,

I like tape.

Lick, raspy lick.

Crinkle, crackle crink

In the middle ofย

The night.

Stella has this lovely habit of eating random things at night. Not completely random, I suppose. Said thing must be box-like, or tape-like, or string-like for her to be interested.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m shocked you would even think such a thing of me.
  • Licking boxes=fun!
  • Chewing tape=super fun!
  • Eating a long peice of string and freaking me out=the best!

I do not know. Why she does it. It’s not like we have tons of boxes lying around. But if she finds one and fancies she needs fed or fresh water…she will definitely let me know. This is one of her quirks. I still love her for it.

But I wish she wouldn’t do it at night. Ah well. Who needs sleep anyway? (Says the tired Mom, who dearly loves her sleep.)

I still love you Stella, in spite of your quirks ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๐Ÿฑ

Cat Treat Shampoo

20170916_084059-1

Stella is a good sport. So sometimes I feel like she needs some treats as a reward for putting up with so much. She spends most of the day in hiding really. Waiting for the time when the kids are napping or away so she can nap in peace wherever she wants.

Anyways. She got some treats this morning. Chomped them down and then proceeded to lick herself all over which I find so funny. Cats eat something delicious then just coat themselves with the flavor so they can savor it all day. It makes me laugh.

Did you say….cat treats?
20170916_083815-1
Why yes, they were delicious.
20170916_083823-1-1
Better lick myself all over so I can remember the deliciousness forever!

You should give me more. I need more.

Sorry Stella I think you’ve had enough for now. More later ๐Ÿ™‚

If you’re curious about what kind of treats they were this is the one. Salmon always goes down well. I think they were like $1.

Hall Thunderer

PicsArt_08-26-11.57.26

Apologies for the late post today, dear readers! It has been one crazy week. My son had his first week of preschool and I’ve been canning and freezing a. Ton. Of. Stuff.

Last night I got to thinking about Stella in preparation for today’s post. I’m always calling her Sweet Stella…Brave Stella. And she is a good kitty. But I wanted to share a few of her quirky habits. Some of the things she does drive me crazy. But they just mean that a) she’s a cat and b) she is unique.

The first name for Stella that came to mind was “Hall Thunderer”. She loves running full speed through the hall in the dead of night.

And then that name reminded me of a scene from The Hobbit, which I am currently reading. I’m a huge Tolkien fan ๐Ÿ˜Š

“…I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths lead. And through the air. I am him who walks unseen.”

“So I can well believe,” said Smaug, “but that is hardly your usual name.”

“I am the clue-finder, the web-cutter, the stinging fly. I was chosen for the lucky number…I am the friend of bears and the guest of eagles. I am Ringwinner and Luckwearer; and I am Barrel-rider,” went on Bilbo beginning to be pleased with his riddling.”

-from The Hobbit, Chapter 12, by J.R.R. Tolkien

I was inspired to continue finding interesting names for Stella, based on her habits. Here is what I came up with:

O Stella

I call you

Fly Eater,

Grape Stealer,

Mouse Snatcher,

She-Who-Continually-Scratches-The-Door,

Sock Chaser,

Hand Biter,

Stink Maker,

Window Watcher,

Sleeping Tiger,

Night Yowler,

The One Who Is Always Hungry,

Stealth Shadow,

Fish Stalker,

And of course Hall Thunderer.

My sweet, unique and sometimes annoying Stella.
