Stella the Mouser

Look at that fierce beast. I love the mix of emotion going on here. There’s annoyance and a bit of anger but you can tell she still loves me πŸ™‚

Stella proved to be an adept hunter this spring. She caught and killed 2 mice in just a few days.

Mouse #2. He was laid to rest in the garden.

I’m a bit embarrassed to admit we had mice. Stella, on the other hand couldn’t have been happier with the situation. She watched the furnace vent in the kitchen for hours until the moment arrived…to pounce!

I missed her catching the first one but found her beside it in J’s room one morning. The second one I saw her catch and watched her play with it. It was very entertaining to watch. Wish I would have recorded it.

We haven’t had any trouble with mice since. Perhaps word has gotten around about our furry and feirce huntress. Thanks Stella!

  1. Mice are smart too. We had a mice problem in my former officer/building. Let’s just say my pistachios, stashed in my office, were perfectly aligned in the storage compartment of the office printer. My office was a good distance! I think they’re hard workers–but they had to go.
